How enlarged is your left atrium?

When I went for my consult with Dr. Natale in July of 2004, they

measured my left atrium diameter at 5.0. I pretty much freaked out

about this measurement, as it had only been 3.7 18 months earlier.

My nurse told me that they also took into consideration the left

atrial chamber size, and mine was within normal limits.

Salwa recently responded to a post about this. If you go back a few

pages, you can find it. I will certainly defer to Salwa's knowledge

and experience.

4 months after my ablation, my left atrium was back to normal size.

Thank you . I don't really know the size - I hope to have an appt with

my EP to go over results. I am surprised to hear the left atrial chamber can

shrink back to normal size. That is good news. I thought once it was enlarged

it stayed that way. Thank you for the good wishes and the same to you.
