Guest guest
Second class is just fine to go from Brussels to Gent. I would not recommend taking a train at all from Gent to the airport after the surgery. It was not worth the money saved for me. They are not set up at all for disabled passengers. It was the worst part of the trip for me and I only really saved about 70 dollars by not taking a taxi. After paying 10,000 Euros for the surgery, it was silly of me to be a cheapskate a week and a half later. Yes, travel as light as you can. If you really need something, you can buy it.
