Guest guest
Hello, As some of you know, we are expecting our second child in January. First and foremost we are excited and feel very blessed. However, we can't let go of this nagging feeling of worry that goes along with this pregnancy, having had a child born with an " abnormality " with our first pregnancy - we know and understand full well " what can happen " . I have a child in my first grade classroom who was born with clubfoot. His mother has since had two other children and has a third on the way. She doesn't know that I am pregnant, but we have discussed with eachother my fears of having another. I was surprised to see that she didn't share in the same fears that I expressed experiencing. She mentioned not giving it a second thought when she had her successive children. I'm curious to know for those of you who have had children born after your child was born with clubfoot - how you felt. I'm fully anticipating greater feelings of anxiety the closer we get to that " 20 week ultrasound " . Right now, everything feels pretty abstract and surreal, we haven't yet gone for our first OB appointment - so this is why. I'm curious to know if our doctor will send us for genetic counceling - or is this something that should have taken place *before* we actually conceived this child? Either way, whatever the results would have been - we would have still conceived baby #2. I know this has been a bit jumbled - I'm sorry. I'm actually not quite sure what I'm asking. Maybe just for empathy? Thanks so much in advance.
