Guest guest
Hi Aase, Dylans will not be a Jazzy Chair, But comfort was the main concern for the people that fitted him. He will be sitting in it most of the day, if he can get back to school. Dylan is 16. I don't expect he will be in the neighborhood with it much. He is still at that point of denial. He doesn't want any one he knew before to know he is disabled. If he goes back to school a bus will be picking him up and he'll attend a school for handicapped kids. He does not want to return to his old school. That school isn't set up for wheel chairs anyway. Dylan has a big fear of getting hurt, so I would guess at least for now, that the speed will not be a problem. If he were to get bold and take it in the neighborhood, then I'd have to say. I might worry. Speed limit for chairs?!? That is so strange. Can't say I've ever seen that. It would make since in a school full of kids in chairs. Thanks so much for helping us all with the info you have on scooters and chairs. It is a big decision to get the right one the first time. They are so expensive. Cindy C. Speed of power wheelchairs - Was: Re: Re: foldable electric scooter CINDY Does Dylan have (or soon get) a Jazzy chair? I could not agree more with you. I really think 25 mph is way too fast for safety in a wheelchair for a child. In Norway we do have a speed limit for wheelchairs (w/c or WC Aase Marit
