Jo,

Yes, I get this all the time.

Funny you should mention it though, I was just contacted by someone else

asking about this. She is not dx'd with EDS and wanted more info. So, if

anyone else has more info on this and wants to share with this other person,

please let me know.

I have had this happen a lot in my life as well.... Most times without even

having touched it myself or against anything..... Grew up like that

actually...... also will tend to ( what I refer to as ) pop veins in

fingers/toes/feet most of my life....... sometimes causing extreme bursts of

pain........ I don't consider it trivial myself but also I don't worry about it

too much...... basically because worrying won't stop it from happening......

Hugs, TJ

Yep it's me again with another weird question I'm afraid, you must be

getting sick of me and my curiosity by now!

My query this time is about spontaneous external bleeding from burst

blood vessels. I've had instances where blood vessels will break,

bleed and cause haematomas before but tonight one of the vessels in

my leg burst and actually broke through the skin. I was sat at my

desk, felt a pain in my leg and when I looked down there is a pool of

blood on the floor! I wasn't sat close to anything that I could have

knocked against, it just went ping and began bleeding.

It's just a small vessel in my thigh, but it bled a lot and took

quite a while to finally stop too, actually restarting several times.

It's stopped for the moment, so fingers crossed that's the last I've

heard from it! I'm now left with a kind of bruised area and a strange

hole in my leg, it's not exactly painful just a little tender and

sore.

Has anyone else had anything like this? Is it a normal occurrence

with EDS? Sorry for asking so many questions again, it just spooked

me a little having this happen. I've had spontaneous skin tears etc

and as mentioned bruises etc but this was just so different and odd.

Thanks for in advance and for listening and my apologies for bringing

up something so trivial!!

Hope you are all well and sending hope of painfree days to you.

Love and hugs....Jo

xx
