Guest guest
Hey Kat: Guess what! I've been up all night too. Went to sleep at 10:00pm and bam! 12:00am I get an adrenaline rush, heart thumping, head pounding and I haven't gone back to sleep yet. It's 7:37am on the east coast and I have blood work today. I'm averaging 3 hours sleep in 24 for the past week. When I'm not hypo, I put a cup of milk (no cocoa, mind you) in the micro to warm it and then drink. I am sleeping like a baby in 15 minutes. This has worked at times when I'm hypo, but when the adrenals are screaming for relief, I wake back up with the flight/flee syndrome going on. A doctor recommended the warm milk routine...so I wouldn't blame you if you were too skeptical to try it. :-) Wishing you sweet dreams....Elaine " katgettel " <katgettel@y...> wrote: > > My Armour is on order, got any suggestions to lul me to sleep. > darn this insomnia! > kat

Guest guest
That's me, too. I only go to sleep and stay asleep with 'aide'. Milk and some carbs helps. Epson Salt- magnesium bath. Melatonin- .05 - 3 mg - we naturally produce this, but you may need more. I'm taking Super Snooze w/ melatonin, hops, kava kava, chamomile, and other natural sleep/relaxant aids in it. Benedryl- kills two birds with one stone... puts me to sleep and keeps me from sneezing. Completely dark room - no tv or computer light. If you wake during the night to go to bathroom, do so in the dark. And something I'm beginning to try- take Armour and/or your adrenal support in small doses at night. It was suggested that we could be so depleted that our regulator won't work properly. Adding a small dose keeps our adrenals regulated to do their job... but only enough so as not to keep us awake. Sounds logical. If you are suffering from adrenal fatigue/exhaustion, it's SO important to rest in order to recover. You need to lay there as long as possible. Resting even though you're not sleeping is still important. One of my problems is the night mares and tortorous thoughts that I can't turn out of my head without other noise (like TV or radio) to break up the thought patterns. Many times I wish I could just turn my mind off! I write that after complaining last night that I don't have enough of a mind! Must be that 'regulator' ill at work! Crystal > Guess what!
