Guest guest
Dear Folks. I just saw an OS today and am scheduled for Total Hip Replacement in February. I asked him about Resurfacing. He doesn't do it and really dismissed it as having " been around for 25 years, not many surgeons do it because it doesn't last. " That seemed to be his main criticism of it. So, I signed up for THR. Now, my question to all of you: Tell me, if you would, what you think of your resurfacing experience. Do any of you have any basis for comparing resurfacing to THR? If so, which do you think is the " best? " I mean: pain gone, mobility restored, occurrence of dislocating hip, and recovery times. I just like the idea of holding onto as much of my own bone as possible. Which is one reason why resurfacing seems more appealing to me. Feedback, please... Thanks. sungold518@...
