Guest guest
Hi! Am very interested in the genetic study. Where Can I read the article on this? BOTH my sons had club feet -- a 100% " batting average " so to speak LOL. Unfortunately I live in the Philippines so getting blood drawn or participating in the study directly seems logistically impossible. But am really, really interested in the initial information and studies they might have.Hope you acn point me in the right direction.... dedet It took me a while to get organized and follow up on it, but as I promised a few months earlier, here is a follow up. Dh. Hashmi from Texas called the unilab here in Orange Co., CA and made the necessary arrangements. He called me back to give me the names of the people willing to draw the blood. All I had to do is call them and arrange time (or different times for the whole family) for the draw. Texas sent prepaid packages for Airborne express, which picks up from my office. So, very organized, very thoughtful staff. Overall experience - very positive. For the ones reading about the genetic study for a first time: the researchers are trying to isolate the gene or genes causing the clubfoot. Hopefully the study will be successful and the clubfoot can eventually be prevented from happening.... Anyway, I am hoping to eliminate the problem for my kids, grand kids... If any of you are interested in participating: .T.Hecht@... .E.Serna@... (713)500-5785 or Dr. Hashmi Dessi ( bilateral CF 9-17-02)

Guest guest
I suggest you sent an e-mail to Shashmi1@... .T.Hecht@... .T.Hecht@...> and .E.Serna@... .E.Serna@...> Airborne Express had a merger with DHL and they do fly to the Philippines and 219 other countries. Just like for US, they provide 24 hr service. Dr. Hashmi can send you the package ( which includes the prepaid envelopes). It is very possible for you to participate in the study if you wish. All you have to do is contact Dr. Hashmi and get more information and package. He can actually arrange for a lab close to you to collect the samples.
