Guest guest
Sorry to hear about your heartache. First is sounds as if your Ponseti Treatment was modified, since you mention there was soft casting and rigid casting. The first thing is to take pictures of your childs feet and send them via email to Dr. P. You need to make sure you childs feet is corrected 100%, since your doctor didn't follow the Ponseti Protocol to a " t " . If you are putting under corrected feet into the shoes your daughter is going to be in a lot of pain. If Dr. P says they are fully corrected we can give you some excercises to do with her to make the transition smoother. > >Reply-To: nosurgery4clubfoot >To: nosurgery4clubfoot >Subject: My Little Girl's Club Feet >Date: Sat, 01 May 2004 01:09:50 -0000 > >Hello everyone, my little girl was born with bilateral club feet. >On the day she left the hospital we went to see Dr. Klingele at the >Children's Orthopedic Center in Columbus Ohio, and after 6 weeks of >soft casting and three weeks of rigid casting, and a tenotomy, we >went to " Hangar " to get Dennis Brown Splints for her. Guest guest
Hi, That is how we were given the DBB also. Just handed it to us and away we went. I found it easiest in the beginning to take the shoes off of the bar and put them on her then put them back on the bar. Some of the bars don't allow this though. I sit with her on my lap facing out. I loosen the laces and strap way out then put her foot in and hold the heal down by pressing on the top of her foot (towards the back)with my thumb, while I thighten the strap as far as I can then I do the laces, then the other foot. Then I go back and tighten the strap one more hole tighter. I hope that you are not still having problems and have figured out something by now but thought I would share my experiance just incase. There have been some other messages on this and you might want to check the history. Also here are a couple of web sites with additional info. http://www.ponseticlubfoot.freeservers.com/hints.html http://www.clubfoot.co.za/practical_tips.htm Tori 1/30/04 bilateral cf dbb 23/
