I've met Jeff (1999 conference) and he is as inspiring in person. A genuinely nice man. There aren't many of this around these days. (Hi, Jeff! <waves>) However, we must always do what is best for us (or for any children) and this may not be the same as for another person. Our EDS is always a bit different than for another EDSer. And sometimes we make mistakes in our ignorance. Like me having that osteotomy done. Go off work in Feb 2001 for 8 to 10 weeks to recover from a straightforward surgery and I'm now on long term disability. But I didn't know of any EDSer who had tried an osteotomy, so I was the guinea pig. And now we know. But I have been off work for almost three years now and the chances of me being able to return to work are somewhere between slim and none. A very high price to pay for being the guinea pig. <sigh> -- Fuller Furry purries Grace, Poppy, Flo and Fliss Folding for the future with the Arthritis Warriors team.
