Thank you to everyone who has welcomed me into the group and has

offered assistance with doctors, etc. I though I'd do a general

reply rather than flood the list with inidividual ones. I hope I

don't forget anyone, though.

- I'm really appreciative of your offer! I wasn't expecting

to find anyone with information exactly in my neck of the woods!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that he's (a) heard of Dr. Kiline, and

(B) heard that Dr. Kline knows a lot about EDS.

Bonnie - how nice to see another SLP. I'm curious to see the results

of your study (I know it takes a long time to compile them, though).

Lana - Is Ultram strictly a pain releiver or does it have anti-

inflammatory benefits too? I suspect I need to buy a prescription

drug guide sometime in the near future...

B. - I requested a referral to a rheumatologist instead of a

geneticist because of two reasons: 1. I though a referral to the

rheum. would be easier to get and 2. From what I understand the genes

haven't been identified for HEDS so I thought that maybe the

geneticist was the second step to confirm a rheum's diagnosis. Do

you think I have incorrect info? And who do you think would be more

appropriate to refer me to a geneticist... the rheum or my primary

care physician? It gets awfully confusing!

Barbara - I admire that EDS Today will be writing the articles you

mentioned. My husband and I had decided agains children years ago,

before I had even herad of EDS, and even though my body has been

falling apart for quite sometime, that wasn't part of our decision

process. I consider myself lucky in that regard, because I know that

there are people out there who want to have children and are really

struggling with the decision to do so because of EDS (and other

medical conditions too). The more informed people's decisions can be

the better!! I have to admit, though, some days I think having a

human child would be easier than having my canine one!! At least

humans learn to talk and can tell you what tehy want, as well as

understand what we want them to do...

Sorry if I missed anyone! Thanks again for the warm welcome into

your group!
