Guest guest
Congrat's Jil on your SSD, I just won mine last week too! That's so Great and I'm so happy for you! Sincerely, S. anjil's GOOD NEWS & other OT > hi all my sweet CEDAngels!! i hope this finds you staying warm & cozy (i > know that's a lousy thing to say to some of you), but i'm praying it warms up for > you. > > yesterday i got the best news in the mail!! to catch some of you up....i was > let go from my job of 17 yrs on 10/17/03. i had quit in 11/02 to go on > disability, to that was challenging, altho i did finally get it. i continued to > work part-time (you can work p.t. & still receive your SSD as long as you don't > work TOO many hours). call your cpa or your local SS office cuz they'll know > the answer. anyway, when i applied for unemployment benefits, they denied me. > a young man interviewed me by telephone, asking questions like how many min. > can you sit, stand, etc. well, i was honest in my answers, which sometimes > makes us wonder if that's the right thing to do. but, that's just how i > am....i tell the truth. then, i appealed the decision & on 01/13/03, had a hearing. > a man in a room with a table & chair of his own, along w/a conference table > & a bunch of chairs. the guy was very stern & when i offered good morning he > sort of grumbled. he said there's your chart & pointed to a chair in the > reception room. mom & i looked at each other w/a look on our faces like " YIKES!! " . > there wasn't much in the folder, other than the contents of the telephone > interview & a form my sleezy boss filled out. " i asked ms. manning if she would > stay and work full time but she refused " . first of all, he never asked me > that, which i told the judge & if he HAD asked me, i would've said you know i > can only work PT. i think he thought he would get out of having to pay anything > into my unemployment funds if he told that big fat lie. the longer i'm away > from him, the happier i am & the more i realize what a complete turd he's > always been. if i told you some of the stuff he has done in the past & some of > the things HE'S done, you wouldn't believe me. but it's all behind me now. > between my $1129 SSD (i was 49 when i got it, w/EDS, FMS, TOS, OA, HA's & > migraines and DDD) & my $370/wk unemployment cks, i think i can relax now & not worry > where my next bowl of ice cream is coming from! the cks are good for one yr, > same as the disability ones were. i feel so relaxed & fortunate. i sat in > my car (where i was reading my mail) & just was grateful to God for watching > over me. i had been looking for a job for weeks (for the first couple of > months, i was so depressed, i didn't do much of anything, to be honest). either the > job paid hardly anything, or they wanted too many hours or they wanted me to > use my own car. so, fortunately, i don't have to worry about that for awhile. > one other weird part of this story is, my boss also fired the gal who was > the receptionist. now he DID ask her the question of would you be willing to > work FT & she said no. but she got her unemployment ck two wks later, on the > dot. how does that work? you'd think that would've stopped her from receiving > it? who knows. she wants me to write a letter of reference for her (she won't > ask our boss cuz the wkend she went back to return her key, she decided to > also take with her a brand new computer tower, a digital camera [w/out the > charger, doo doo brain] & some other stuff. so she doesn't have the balls to ask > him for a ltr. last time she asked me for it, i said, but i don't have any > letterhead to write it on. she said that doesn't matter, just use your own name & > address. but i don't feel right, saying anything positive about her. altho, > they say they can't be sure it was her, earlier that same wk, when our > computer tutor came to help her, she brought her favorite leather jacket & when she > left, she forgot it. guess what....it wasn't there when she came back to get > it. isn't that a little weird? > > i think i will just say i don't think it's appropriate for me to write the > ltr since i didn't work really closely w/her & wasn't really aware of her work > habits. that's a joke, all she did was talk on personal calls all day, the > kitchen would run out of everything cuz she was so lazy she didn't wanna get out > of her chair & she let my pretty garden die cuz she was too busy talking on > her cell phone to go out front in the patio to water the flowers. she really > was pitiful & i'm not surprised he let her go. but i'm not surprised he let me > go either cuz i couldn't concentrate anymore w/all the pain. i made too many > mistakes. i felt bad about it, but i couldn't help it. so, i'm sure he's > better off w/out me, too. > > so, that's me happy news for today!! only my mom just called & took her car > in to go a new speedometer. she drove her car into the stall, RIGHT into the > stall & through the back wall & busted her radiator. it's funny this happened > right now. she's 81. she relies on her car very heavily. but she is a > horrible driver!! i always drive when we go anywhere. i was just talking to my > daughter & my sister about this very subject & look what happens. at least > she's ok. but this scares me. the other day i had to have a talk w/her about > playing her stereo too loud. she's so deaf these days, she wouldn't hear a > siren at all the way she blasts her music. she took it pretty well when i told > her that, but who knows if she's doing it or not. > > thank you again, all my CEDAngels, for your support & understanding during my > little meltdown last yr. you're all SOOOO amazing. i can't tell you how > much you all mean to me. sometimes you're so low, you feel like you'll rub off > on everyone else if you stay around. i know that sounds really dumb, but > that's how i felt. > > love & anjil hugs () : ) > jil xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo > > >
