healing takes time

Sunita,

The worst part of the surgery for me was the tiredness. I went back to work

part time soon after the surgery and would come home exhausted. Physically

I could do anything I wanted; I even took the bus to work because I couldn't

drive, but I was so tired when I get home that I would lie down and not get

up again. Taking iron helped a lot. You are not a slow healer at all. You

just had major surgery. I lost weight because I was too tired to eat most

of the time. Hang in there and rest!

It's been five months and I don't even think about my hip anymore except to

remind myself, " maybe I shoudn't do that yet because of my hip... " when I

almost lift something really heavy...

For those off to Belgium...the flight from Brussels to the east coast was

fine. It was the last leg to California that was a killer. I couldn't get

comfortable in economy class even at the bulkhead. Women, bring a plastic

container to pee in standing up and then dump it down the toilet. Trying to

sit in those tiny little bathrooms was nearly impossible while keeping my

leg from bending too much. And you should drink lots of water while flying

which means going through the process many times...
