Guest guest
You will probably get responses from people who are more experienced than I am but I would think that the first thing to do would bring him to a good Orthopedic doctor to be checked out. If he is corrected they will probably want to put him in a DBB (Denis Brown Bar) at bed times to avoid a relapse. If he is relapsing they may do more casting but it is less effective in older kids so he may need a surgery. HTH.
Guest guest
Sandy, Welcome to our group. There are now a number of doctors in Florida who have been trained in the Ponseti method. The following are the ones currently listed on Dr. Ponseti's web site (There have also been other parents here who have mentioned that their doctor in Florida was using the Ponseti method): Dennis P. Grogan, M.D. Cara D. Novick, M.D. Shriners Hospitals for Children 12502 Pine Drive Tampa, FL 33612-9411 Tel: T. Price, M.D. Nemours Children's Clinic 83 West Columbia Street Orlando, FL 32806-1101 Tel: Fax: Email Dr. Price J. Romano II, M.D. Scoliosis and Pediatric Orthopaedic Center 4101 South Hospital Drive - Ste. 5 Plantation FL 33317 Tel: 954 321-7762 Fax: 954 321-9596 Email Dr. Romano http://www.vh.org/pediatric/patient/orthopaedics/clubfeet/physicians. html#florida Even at 2 years of age, if the little boy has not yet had the surgery it is possible that the Ponseti method may still be able to work if the feet are not yet fully corrected. But it would be important to have it done as soon as possible. A great resource for all kinds of information on the Ponseti method is 's web site at http://pages.ivillage.com/ponseti_links/ Please keep us informed on how things are going. and (3-17-99) http://www.vh.org/pediatric/patient/orthopaedics/clubfeet/egbert.html > Hi: > > I live in Central Florida and am interested in adopting a little boy with > club feet.
