I have in the past had similar happen- and it was from colitis/ulcer- it was at

its worst and close to becoming chrones- I ended up TRYING to live on baby food

and finally got back to almost some normality - at least - not as painful ------

with lomotil and metamucil....... I still to this day have problems of such if I

am stressed/from some meds and or get the flu----- Drs wanted to do a scope on

me but I wouldnt allow them to---- and that was within this last 2 yrs.... My

dr did tell me it was EDS related.... and has me on lomotil and Metamucil

again....... I actually had to crawl aw well .......

Not sure if this is same as yours but- that was my experience..........

What did the emergency room do for you ?

Hugs and Hope you are feeling better today-

RE: Need anwsers to bowel twisting or what is called a

Volvulus, EDS related/not

Hello Everyone;

I'm writting this posting to ask you to address the above subject

line and to see if anyone can shed any light on the subject matter.

Yesterday, I was doing the normal things that I do around the house,

nothing that would cause stress or stain to the body systems, and

about 12:30PM EST / 1:00PM EST, I went to use the restroom and within

in seconds I was doubled over in pain and the level was about 15/10

with a hugh loss of fulids and stuck in the fetal position. This is

the third time that I've had this occur, the last time was on

08/22/02.

It took me about 1/2 hr to make it down the stairs, falling down the

last 3 or 4 steps to get the front door open and to contact our local

EMS to have me taken to the local hospital. During the trip to the

hospital I used up 1500 to 2000cc of fulid to fill my body back up

with the fulids. My body temp dropped to 95 and I'm not sure of my

actual 02 levels.

Within 15 minutes of the arrival at the hospital the pain level went

from 15/10 to about a 5/10 and I was still unable to put my legs

straight out due to the cramps in the stomach.

If anyone on the message board can shine any light of this subject

matter or has had this happen please let me now what could be causing

this to happen, and from what I understand it is not related to our

problems with EDS.

In closing, I will be looking forward to hearing from each of you

and your valued comments on this matter of great importance.

Sincerely;

Mr. L. Heim, Jr., President.
