Hello,

My son Jayden is a little over 2 years old and has been treated by Dr. Ponseti.

I believe I was there when 's family was there I was staying in the RMH and

we are from Texas. Now I need some advice...my son was treated and corrected by

Dr. P but he has relapsed. He no longer wears the shoes because Texas Medicaid

won't pay for them. I need to know where to get them from and what I should do.

I cannot return to Iowa City for some time and I need your help. Should I take

hime to a Dr. locally to aleast get some treatment? I have spoken with Dr. P

and he sayed that we need to return right away. But I am unable to do that,

because I am a single mother in college. I just enrolled this semester. Do you

know of anyone who might be able to sell me there used shoes that they have

outgrown or someone who might sell them at a reduced price?! Please feel free

to email me with your thoughts about what I should do about Jayden's feet.

Bodindurd@... is my emial address and

Bodindurd is my yahooID I would love to talk to anyone that might have some

suggestions. Jayden is starting to try and walk and he is walking on the side

of his foot...he really needs those shoes with the DBB to hold the correction

that we once acheived. Dr. P. said Jayden's feet are the most severe and the

most sensitive that he has seen in 50 years. I really need help!

Thank You-Robin

Re: custom fit shoes for kids

" PP Clubfoot board " ? What's that?

custom fit shoes for kids

I saw this posted on the PP clubfoot board and thought it would be

helpful to the families here. This company provides custom fit shoes

for kids. I contacted them, and they're willing to sell split sizes

for no additional cost. The prices are about the same or slightly

higher than Stride Rite. The advantages that I see over this

company's shoes versus any others that I've found are that the shoes

are machine washable and scuff resistant, so they should last longer

and look newer, plus they're pretty close to custom fit as they have

inserts for adjustable width. There are no shipping charges for US &

Canada and they claim to have low shipping fees for the rest of the

world. I have not ordered yet, so I cannot vouch for the product,

but I will be ordering some for so she can have a set of shoes

that fit *both* her feet! :)

Here's the website: http://preschoolians.com/

Oh, and they also have " special " socks that are supposed to be made

from fibers that help to heat the foot when cold and keep it dry when

warm- might be worth trying for someone with a sweaty foot kid in the

FAB. The shoes are supposed to address the kids' sweaty feet also.

I'd love to hear from anyone if you have experience with this or

similar product!

Thanks,
