If he's uncomfortable, try putting him in a warm bath (not hot, not cool). Also cool washcloths can feel good. Nell
Guest guest
I think it sounds like he is just getting sick but you can switch brands to make sure. nne > Does this sound related to a bad reaction to a round or is he just > getting sick? Guest guest
nne, Thank you for responding. I've spent the entire day reading the archives and can't find anything similar in any posts. He only vomited that once right after the morning dose. We stopped after that b/c I wasn't sure what might be the cause and he seems fine. The only things we noticed during the round were increased warmth/sweating, especially at night while he slept. His urine output seemed decreased the first 24 hours then seemed to be back to normal and his appetite and thirst definitely decreased during the round. Since it doesn't appear that he was just getting sick, does anyone have any ideas how this might be related to chelation (or worse high Copper)? -KIM [ ] Re: Trembling, Vomitting, Chills on first round ALA only - HELP!!! Guest guest
Take his temperature. If it gets over 104 anything goes, worry about the fever, not the OTC stuff. Generally I am a fan of aspirin though I know the MD workd is horrified because they are sure it causes Reye's syndrome. Apirin does not mess with your liver like all the others do. Also if he is really miserable, do see your pediatrician (or a good doctor if that is different), hold your cards close to the chest about chelation and vitamins or all you'll get is crap about stopping that and an irresponsible lack of care. But the doc will do find at resolving the urgent problem - and you shouldn't be scared of whatever meds s/he wants to hand out - then you can get back to the other stuff. Aside from being good at crisis management, doctors are GREAT at having seen the last 300 kids who got this same problem last week and usually recognize what is going on immediately. Guest guest
Thanks Andy. He was only sick that one time and the fever is gone too. He seemed fine within an hour or two. His appetite is poor and he isn't drinking as much as he usually does but other than that - nothing. We'll try another round starting Friday. If he vomits again after a dose what, if anything, could that mean? Again, thank you sincerely for answering. I've been glued to the computer all day and have been worried sick. -KIM [ ] Re: Trembling, Vomitting, Chills on first round ALA only - HELP!!! Take his temperature.
