Guest guest
, I've been wondering about my daughters too. So now you've given me a check point without freaking my daughters out.. What is a good resting heart rate? What do the half moons at the base of the nail tell us? I want to check my daughters.. I know one doesn't have the moons at all and one only has them on the thumbs. Can you help me interpret? Thanks Connie.. ps.. Sorry for jumping in. But I'm always amazed at your input.. thank you for being a part of this group. > > It's time to have some more tests run to find out what's up.... the TSH > that was taken was too long ago to tell anything about what is going on > now... it was 'in normal range' but is a bit low for what 'most normal > folks' have for a TSH. > > Considering that you are hypo it isn't out of line to check to see how > your daughter has going on thyroid wise.... > > The bare minimum, in my opinion, would be: > TSH > Free T3 > Free T4 > Thyroid antibodies > Ferritin > > Those numbers will give a much better picture of what is going on than > TSH alone... > > If the Frees are too low in their ranges... that would account for the > weight maintenance issues.. but until you have them tested...... > > In the mean time.... have her check her resting (after sitting quietly > for about 20 minutes) heart rate.... what is it? > > Take a peak at her finger nails....
