Guest guest
your friend is right, the bar won't work if the heel isn't corrected. The good news is that even at 6 months old your son's foot can still be corrected using the Ponseti Method if you can find a qualified doctor. Other's here can give you lots more information on this but check the " Links " section on the home page of this group and it can refer you to lists of doctors I think. By the way, your English is OK shawnee hi again looks like it working...finally... :-) well, im a 28 year old girl from sweden, with a son who has clubfoot...he is almost 6 months old...he has clubfoot only on his left foot...and he has done surgery, where they cuf off the achilles tendon...the heal wont come down...but last friday he got the dennis brown...then a girl in sweden said that she had heard that dennis brown wont do any good if the heal hasnt come down that it can do more harm than good too...my sons doctor is incompetent on this topic i think...so i turn to you....have you heard about this?? i tried to call a doctor that is more competent...(the girl told me about him), but you hade to have a consideration (dont know if that is the right word...sorry) to get in touch with him.... i hope you understand me... :-) i also try to look for information about this question on the internet, but havent found any... :-( bye for now &
Guest guest
, Welcome to our group. There is at least 1 other member here who is from Sweden. left a message here at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/nosurgery4clubfoot/message/21759 I believe that she has a web site that can be seen at http://w1.652.telia.com/~u65203641/baby/indexa.htm We also have a couple of members from Finland, but I assume that Finnish and Swedish are not similar enough to allow you to read their messages at their Finnish Web site at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Kampurajalka/ Here is the list of doctors at Dr. Ponseti's web site. The only doctor currently listed from Sweden is Dr. Bertil Romanus Orthopaedic Department Sahlgrenska University Hospital/Ostra S-416 85 Goteborg Sweden Tel: 46 31 343 4000 Email Dr. Romanus at bromanus @ yahoo.com There may now be some other doctors in sweden who are beginning to use the Ponseti method. But it is important to make sure that they are following the method exactly as it was designed.
