Dr Ponseti often uses lower degrees in atypical clubfeet or clubfeet with loose

ligaments. In both cases it is to preven the shoe from causing damage to the

foot - 70 degrees made Kai's foot relapse and twist quicker than it might have

otherwise.

Kai's shoe is set to 55 degrees for the same reason. I believe that told

me that Sadie's (who also has plantaris) shoes are set to 45/20 for

bilateral clubfoot and bilateral plantaris. I have an e-mail somewhere where Dr

P explained it to me. If you wish, you can contact me off board and I will

forward it to you :)

Brace degrees

just called and he is over nighting our braces to us.

We should get them today. He talked to Dr. Ponseti today and he

wanted us to change the degrees to 40. Is anyone else set at 40

degrees? did not know why the degrees should be set at 40.

Does any one know why the lower degrees are used?
