Dear ,

I too am like you very grateful for all the support and great

knowledge I have found with these " hippies. " Unlike you, I do not

yet have a date with Dr. De Smet...I hope to hear from him by the

23rd or 24th as I have sent my xrays and medical history. I have

submitted my passport application and checked on tentative airline

flights.

I am very excited for you. I have not heard of any others on this

website who are going over when you are. I have only been on this

site now for 2wks, so I am a little afraid that I may be missing

some of the arrngements or details that I that I need to consider. I

am interested in the file you have compiled. I have ordered Peggy

's book and am anticipating its arrival.

Sincerely, Dawn

this site. Without you, I would not have found Dr. De Smet! You

all helped me realize that this is my LIFE, after all. For less

than the cost of a used car, I can have it back! If I get

reimbursed after the fact, so much the better, but insurance

coverage stopped being the determining factor for me. I have all of

you to thank for that!

Belgium, ranging from how to pee standing up on the airplane to how

to set up a 10/16 phone tree. I actually found the sweatpants Dr.

Steve mentioned, at Sam's ---for $14.81, men's sizes only. But hey,

for the price, I bought the only 2 pairs they had in a medium!

Still looking for those California Crazee Wear Baggies! Despite

your advice, Dr. Steve, I decided I'd feel too weird going without

underwear at all, so I bought some XL boxers, also at Sam's! I'll

report back on how that works out for the prospective lady

surfacehippies out there!

scheduled with Dr. De Smet on March 3rd or 4th. Anybody out there?

I hope so!

Immediate follow-up is not normally needed. By the time you leave

Belgium a week after surgery, you have the needed meds for blood

thinning, pain, prevention of bone overgrowth, pt instructions etc.

Folks always have questions, but, just as before surgery, when you

write to Dr. DeSmet, he gets back to you by e-mail faster than any

US doctor calls you -

That reminds me, I have to get an xray to send him .
