Withdrawals

I'll try to make this short. I'm very frustrated. Dylan is titrating off of

Methadone. I'm suppose to give him 5mg less every 3 days. When he is off it

completely, the pain Dr will put him on the Fentanyl Patch. In the mean time he

has Oxycodone for break through. He is so sick. Two weeks in bed now, and

nauseous 24/7. The Nausea pills aren't helping much. The new primary completely

disagrees with how it's being handled. He said he would put him on a low dose of

the Fentanyl while weaning off the Meth. Lower one, raise the other. Also that

he should have some BP med that helps with the withdrawal. I HATE ALL THESE

MEDS! Primary can step on the pain Docs toes of course. He says he can't argue

with a Dr that so called knows more than he does.

So, those of you that have switched to the patch, how did your Docs do it? Did

you get this sick? I don't want him to suffer like this, if he doesn't have to.

I'm waiting for the pain Doc to call me back now. He's in surgery.
