Sorry I've not been around - bleeding probs

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to apologise for not having been around much, but I'm

having some scary issues going on at the moment. For the past week

I've been having bigger and bigger bleeds from vessels in my legs and

now my torso too. These vessels are bursting, spurting through my

skin to bleed quite dramatically for a while, then they will begin

leaching into the surrounding tissue, muscle and even now into my

joints too. My knee is currently very sore after I had a pretty big

bleed in the bath, which spurted all over the bathroom wall and left

it looking like a murder scene (CSI would have a field day with the

Luminoll!) I'm now sporting lots of egg shaped, painful purple

haematomas all over my legs and across my shoulders and feeling

rather sore and scared.

I've had several nose bleeds, which is very rare for me and my gums

are bleeding regularly too. So I'm having blood work done on Monday

to check for blood disorders, including Leukaemia but it is suspected

that it is a vascular development of my EDS. I don't mind admitting

that I'm completely terrified right now, feeling like I'm stuck

between a rock and a hard place as neither possibility is

particularly pleasant. I'm just praying there is going to be

different easily treated or handled reason for everything and that

this isn't going to affect my upcoming shoulder surgery.

Anyway, that is why I haven't been around much as I've been trying to

take things easy and rest up as much as I can. Please know that I've

been thinking of you all and sending good thoughts and hopes your way

though.
