Acid reflux may not be directly related to EDS, but GERD because of a hiatal

hernia definitely is. A hiatal hernia can be caused by lax tissue which

allows the reflux to occur.

All the things the GI doc mentioned help, but in the long run, Prevacid or

Nexium is the most helpful. I get GERD just from swallowing the water to

take my pills! Acid reflux also created huge amounts of white mucus called

bresh or bresch which might be mistaken for chronic nasal problems.

hum.......

The dr said that chronic sinus problems is also a symptom of GERD.

has that, but it seems directly related to his hayfever. He gets lots of

sinus infections during the time when his allergies are at their worst.

So, are you saying that acid reflux is different than GERD? The dr said he has

GERD. I thought they were the same thing.

I'm so confused (again - or still)

They are the same thing - just different names. GERD is

Gastroesophogeal Reflux Disease. Acid refers to stomach acid

(gastro) and reflux refers to bringing it back into the esophogus

(esophogeal).
