I've been thinking about getting rid of the TV again. Does anyone here live

a tv free life, or thought about?

I always swore that when I had children I would bring them up without tv -

but we kept it - I used to have very strict rules about amount of tv

watched, and then videos when Steve started buying them. Now the darned

thing seems to rule our lives. The children have an unbelievable amount of

videos (although to be fair they don't actually seem to be in a video

watching phase at the moment) and the tv is on constantly all evening.

I used to just watch Eastenders, but have 'progressed' to coronation street,

neighbours and emmerdale as well! Communication is a rare thing between

steve and I. It should be easy to just switch off but that requires

self-discipline.....

When we moved to this house we discovered a mobile home hidden at the bottom

of the garden, which I am currently renovating for guests so I could quite

easily just transfer it down there where it could be used for specific

programs.

Steve is very much against the idea - any ideas on persuading him?
