Guest guest
, I am so sorry that Cole's sleep problems are plaguing you. I know you've been reading the posts for a while- have you gone through all the steps to ensure that Cole's brace is fitted properly (right lengths, right angles of rotation etc.)? Are you sure that Cole's feet are corrected? Who is his doctor? Do you have pictures of Cole's feet in and out of the brace that you can share with us? I hope we can help you determine if his sleep issues are related to his treatment. Here's a big *HUG* to you and kudos for sticking it out this long! You're a great MOMMY!!! It took my son, Aidan, a long time to sleep through the night too- and he didn't have clubfoot or wear a brace. I know how exhausting it is! Please keep us posted, and if you feel like sharing some more information, maybe we can help you troubleshoot the problem(s)! & (3-16-00) left clubfoot > Dear Group: > You are a wonderful resource and that is why I am turning to you this > morning. Guest guest
Dear My son never slept through the night either and I had to go back to work when he was 6 months, (part-time) and I was panicking as I was so tired. I started putting him to bed at 7.30/8pm with his bottle of milk and then I woke him with another bottle at 11pm. I still do it now and he sleeps all night (mostly, he has the odd night when he is crying and I don't know what is wrong!!) He normally wakes around 7 and goes to bed about 7.30 so I am pleased with that. Also I found that since I have put him in a baby sleeping bag where he is free to move about he slept better, I cannot see us ever going to blankets and sheets now. He sleeps on his side with his foot up against the bars so a pillow under his feet wouldn't really work for us. He also had blisters on his heels. Connor had to go back in casts and he never slept all night in those either. But for me waking him for his 11pm milk most definately worked for me........... Rach, Steve & Connor b/l c/f age 13 months. DBB 12/14 hours. -- Sleep (and Blister) Dear Group: You are a wonderful resource and that is why I am turning to you this morning. I listened to your advice regarding the sleep discomfort at 7 months with open ears...this is why. My son is 6 months old and has never (and I mean never) slept through the night. My husband and I are exhausted to say the least but we are plugging away. Last night my son slept all night and we had to wake him up this morning to go get fitted for new shoes!!!! Why, he didn't have his DBB on because of a very bad blister on his little toe. I am headed to the Orthitist this morning to get fitted for new shoes and I hope this eliviates some of his discomfort. Do you have any other ideas regarding placing a pillow under this feet? etc.? I have the foam blocks in his bed to prop him on his side a bit but that has not worked until this point. I am feeling terrible because he has never slept and last night he did...without his shoes. Tonight we start the no sleep again. =( Thank you for your help! Guest guest
, My DD Rose is 14 1/2 months old now and just started sleeping through the night within the last two weeks. We would get the odd night where she didn't wake up, but mostly she would go down around 8 or so, be back up by 12 and again around 2 or 3. I would feed her or hold her or change her or whatever seemed to work. I think that moving around with the DBB on wakes them up and sometimes they are too little to get back to sleep on their own. I had to learn to go back to sleep quickly and make due with less sleep. I think I am finally used to it!
