Guest guest
I wanted to thank everyone who gave me some advice. I know many of you go to Iowa to see Dr. Ponseti himself, but I was feeling comfortable with our local dr. in Minneapolis. I however took your advice and sent an e-mail to Dr. Ponseti with a photo of her feet. Out doctor was letting us wait until we were ready to make any decisions and I didn't know what to do, but Dr. Ponseti sent a very concrete e-mail telling me Grace needed to be seen right away. That she is not fully corrected and will need to be recasted. We made the appointment to see Dr. Ponseti for the end of April, dispite insurance will not pay. I am happy to announce that Grace walked today!!!! She is 21 1/2 months old and what a relief. Our doctor would tell us thats great see you in six months, but we are sticking with Dr. Ponseti and having her re-casted to fully correct her feet that are very close, but not quite. I am newly inspired by Kavan that Dr. Ponseti will be able to help her quickly. If you didn't see my first e-mail Grace was serial casted for 14 weeks as an infant plus an tentonmy with a 3 week cast. Well here we go and hope for the best. Thank You, Bonfig Mom of Grace
