We are currently selling our Markell boots in Sweden. You or your

Hello Morten,

When you call the people that Jay Markell referred you to, remember

to ask for STRAIGHT LAST shoes. Your bar looks like the one we have

and if you get straight last shoes each shoe looks the same, there is

no curve on the base that makes them look left or right.

Our dr. also put an insert in the shoes that is above the heel near

the top of the boot to help keep the foot from slipping.

Try as hard as you can to keep his foot from moving in the shoe,

otherwise he will likely develop blisters. Get it on there as tight

as you can.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

I think that as long as his feet are staying in the shoes and the

heal is staying down, and they are set at the right degree you should

be fine. The most common type of shoes used on this board are the

Markell shoes. Dr Ponseti is also starting to use the shoes

on atypical and harder to treat feet. They can be found at the

following websites.

Brace:

http://www.mdorthopaedics.org/default.html

Markell brace:

http://www.markellshoe.com

I think there is info on the sites as to how to order them.

If you are concerned about the heal slipping the orthist can put a

piece of foam in the back to help hold it down. There is more info

on this in the files section.
