doc she had been self-medicating, and she took the bull by the

horns!! Janie)

" Good news to report. I had a visit with my pcp yesterday...we talked

about thyroid. Instead of dwelling on the past I decided to take the

high road and go for the future. I told him that I have been self

medicating as I didn't think that he would prescribe Armour because

he was younger. He told me he had about a dozen patients on Armour

and the only reason that he ever hesitated is that sometimes it is

hard to get. (If he only knew) Then I asked him about the usual lab

work and tsh and did he ever order free t-3 and t-4. I passed his

explanation of tsh function and didn't argue but lo and behold he

ordered a free t-3 and t-4 test. And.....he gave me a script for

Armour. So what I think has happened here is that instead of going in

like a storm trooper(like I usually do) and dwelling on his screw-ups

I let him know that I had done research for a year and I know what I

am talking about. I am so happy that I don't have to find a new doc.

And.... that is my Thanksgiving story! Have a great holiday!
