Guest guest
Sammie, there is a listing for a lab in the files section here I think? It's for a lab that does adrenal testing by saliva. I've heard it's better. SandyE~Houston What Adrenal Tests Are Best? I'm pretty certain I have adrenal issues, but would like to invest in the test. I'm hearing different opinions on what is best - some say the 24 hour urine is ideal, others say the saliva test is the best. Or should I opt not for the test and just start supplementing with meds? Is there a consensus on this? I live in the Los Angeles area and am hoping someone would know of a place to go locally. My Endo has no opinion on this. Guest guest
Hi Sammie, I was in the hospital and diagnosed with 's disease a year ago. 's is adrenal insufficiency for the rest of one's life. I don't know or remember a lot of what and how they tested me but the test that finally confirmed it was a Cortisol Stim Test. I don't know how they do that, though. I think it's a series of blood draws hours apart to determine if Cortisol is stimulated in the adrenal glands when they inject ACTH into your system. If Cortisol does not rise then you probably have adrenal insufficiency to one degree or another. What are your symptoms? Tressie What Adrenal Tests Are Best?
