Guest guest
In answer to the question about wider shoes, I want to let you all know that a wider shoe is in the planning stages. Based on pictures, problems, and reports from parents and doctors, I am trying to create a new wide last that has a broader heel area. This I hope will answer the problem of the first time wearer with short pudgy feet that won't fit or won't get all the way down into our Medium width boot. I am also playing with a new pattern design that will have a cut-out in the heel area to relieve pressure and to see that the babies' heels are all the way down. Please note that this is all in the development stage. The first prototype pair is about a month or so away. We will make a 000 Wide first and test out several pair on newborns just coming out of casting, too make sure that we have the right shape and fit. Then I would propose to make the wide width shoes from 0000 up to size 2. This seems to be the critical size range where the kids need the added width. Once they get into the bigger sizes, the feet usually slim down a little and take on more shape and contour. So figure on wide width shoes for Xmas. As always, I will appreciate feedback, suggestions, and comment. Jay Markell P.S. Larger sizes 8.5 & 9 in Medium are coming in another 6 weeks or so.
