- not sure I understand you're question - can you clarify??

Maybe the confusion is between the words " CAN " and " SHOULD " . Clearly, you

CAN eat as many AP's as you earn in the day you earn them. If you have a 26

point target and you earn 10 AP's, you CAN eat 26 + 10 + Flex points Points.

SHOULD you? That depends on you. Some folks swear by not eating their

AP's. Others have found that they don't lose unless they eat them all. I

think.

in general, if you're earning lots of APs - if you've turned into an

athlete - you're

going to need the extra food to fuel the body - so eat those AP's or

you'll be

hungry.

I generally earn between 5-10 AP's a day and I mostly eat them. On those

days that I earn way more then that, I tend not to eat them all.

You know another aspect of this discussion is what type of food to

eat when eating your APs. Obviously, it's up to each individual, but

I've found that my body responds better (performance-wise) and I lose

weight and feel better when I make good choices, rather than just

using my 10 APs for junk.

Here's what I do: when I know I'm going to have a large AP day, I'll

add a couple extra points to each meal (2-3, depending on how much I

earn) but add in healthy stuff, an extra fruit, some healthy fats,

extra carbs, etc., stuff I don't normally have extra points for but

are good for me. Also, sometimes I need some of those extra APs for

fuel during and right after my workout, so I make sure I have enough

points for snacks/sports drink throughout the run and a good

protein/carb snack for after the run.

This keeps my body fueled up for the exercise, but allows me to still

feel in control. Sometimes eating too many high sugar things/sweets

tend to send me into a downward spiral, plus they do nothing for my

energy level.

Good points. No pun intended...ok...pun intended. =)

For me, once I switched over to the Flexpoints I almost HAD to eat my AP's. I

rarely ever ate them when I was doing Winning Points, but since my daily number

is lower in FP, I had to start eating them. I've always ate at my high range

and done well...but that's just me. =)

But, I must say I usually don't rack up more than 4-5 AP's a day, so I don't

really feel like I'm eating way over my target.
