Guest guest
I buy & use wigs & hairpieces from a Young's catalog all the time now for the past few years while waiting for my dark brown very short hair to grow out & go all grey. I love them. Tho I still have a full head of hair but it's rather fine, not thin tho. I have bunches of very fine straight hair. I'm getting to the point now where I don't need the wigs or hair pieces much anymore tho because my hair's grown out way longer now & all gone as naturally grey as it going to get for while. I guess I'm lucky I still have a full head of hair & haven't lost any that I know of. Just body hair & eyebrows/ eyelashes gone mostly. Caroline I am depressed about so much hair loss??? I was kept hypothyroid so damn long that I am practically bald on top of my head. It is so hard to fix your hair when there isn't much to fix. I have to put gel in my hair because it is so thin and the gel makes it thick. It is not falling out like it was before. I KEEP CHECKING FOR NEW HAIR GROWTH BUT THERE ISN'T ANY. EEEEEK!!! Does anyone have this problem? I think a wig would be a good thing to have right now.

It takes hair and skin about six months to really get back to normal. I noticed my hair really getting better (softer and not falling out) around the 7th month of treatment. Guest guest
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but for *me*... the hair I lost never came back. I've been on meds for almost a year now. It may be easier to deal with this if you have a doctor that can determine why your hair isn't growing back, though I do agree that you've not been on the meds long enough for that to happen. Guest guest
Not on HRT, but I used to get synthetic T3 (pure) and natural progesterone from a compounding pharmacy. It was costing nearly $100/mo and we couldn't afford it anymore. So I stopped taking both, went weeks without meds, crashed HARD CORE (Janie probably remembers this), then began taking Nutrimeds, couldn't order that anymore (no computer access for months and no money to buy the stuff), then began taking a generic like armour ($3/bottle), but that resource is gone and I'm having to switch again. But no.. no HRT. I've been wanting to use that Estroven " Menopause Monitor " to see where I stand, but I can't find it anywhere locally. If you are on hrt, then > you probably need more armour or t4 meds. > > I think it would be better for anyone to take natural hrt from a > compounding pharmacy. I never did but I wish I had.
