Guest guest
Cindy, I kind of chuckled to myself when I read this post. The doctors never seem to know, yet often they like to act as though they do. When was in the hospital, Dermatology came up and asked if they could see him. It was one of the staff physicians along with about 4 or 5 others, a mixture of residents and interns. I said, sure, but he doesn't have the type of EDS that has skin issues, at least sure doesn't have any. Beth Have you gotten to the point? > That when at a new Dr that doesn't know jack S..t about EDS, that you just ( under your breath of course) you just laugh at them. Endro yesterday, the Dr said he knew very little of EDS and continually kept trying to hold Dylan's hand and stretch the skin off it. (his skin isn't stretchy) Is that all they know?..... Dylan and I just looked at each other and had that, why bother telling them, look between us. The Drs you know you are going too see again, of course you try to teach them what they are willing to learn, but the one time Drs?... It's getting old. > And the stiae marks? " ,,,,,,Well of course he has stretch marks he has gained 20 pounds and grew an inch " . Give me a break please!!!! Can we please see a real Dr???? > Cindy C. > > >
Guest guest
Hi Cindy, >:-X !!!!!!!!! I'm sorry Fridays appt was such a waste of time and energy. REALLY! >:-L foaming at the mouth here! I grew an inch every month for 6 months straight in the prime of my growth spurt when I was 13 and I didn't get one stretch mark. And yikes, the photos of Dylans marks sure look OwChY! In regards to skin issues in general... I don't have stretchy skin everywhere. I have doughy, stretchy, thin, skin on the upper, inner portion of my arms, and thin, mildly stretchy skin on my hands. I'll have to take photos I guess. My ankles are scarred with shaving nicks from the SUMMER... still! Microscopic nicks that I couldn't even see the cut but bleed leave dot scars about this big: { } So I'm not really sure what Im stuck with here. I'm labeled as severe systemic HMS but I have gastro symptoms, high heart rate and palpations, fainted, speech issues, etc. etc. and don't think its 'benign hms'. Hope you have better luck with the next Dr. SHEESH! By the way, any luck with finding a new family Dr.? And how is the energy work progressing!? Take care Cindy, -Rhea
