Dear Sunita and ine,

I realize that you both sent personal messages to me, but I can't

seem to access them. My husband set up this account for me before

leaving for a business trip, and I can't seem to quite figure out

what the heck he did! For the time being, I'll have to respond via

the general website, which is fine, but should you want to send a

personal message you can send it to my other e-mail address (and I

do check this regularly). Let me know and I'll give you that

address.

Like both of you, I think my expectations were much higher than what

I'm experiencing at this point in time (three weeks post-op

yesterday). I am still in tremendous pain, and although the

sensation of burning/swelling has subsided some (thank goodness), I

am still really overwhelmed. Last night I was up until 3:00 am

writhing, and now that I've reduced my intake of most meds (I felt

like I was being polluted), I was really suffering. I woke up this

morning, so sad because each day I think I'll see some small

improvement and it's just not apparent yet.

How did your first day of work go, ine? How are you feeling

Sunita after pushing yourself a little too hard yesterday?

Seems like the guys on this website do better than the gals, but

maybe they're just in the overall surgical majority.

By the way, what meds are you taking?

All the best and sorry for the cyberconfusion!

Dear Lari,

I realize from this that you are not yet getting personal messages? I

sent you one too, in response to your e-mail to me about wanting to

connect. It's sounds like it is very difficult for you right now. And

that perhaps you are on your own? Even harder. It is good to have

someone to unload to.

Please don't hesitate to phone me if you want someone to talk to who has

been through the same thing. My phone number is 01923 775993. It is in

Rickmansworth, just outside London---still on the Tube. I'm in tonight,

although out tomorrow night and in and out tomorrow during the day. We

have an answerphone.

Looking forward to connecting.

All the very best,

Eleanor
