Guest guest
Heidi, For scheduling an appointment with Dr. Ponseti, I just called the main appointment number (1-) and told them I had already corresponded with Dr. Ponseti and was always able to get to see him when I needed to. I'm sorry I can't give you any advice on the airport information because we've driven there every time. When we couldn't get a room at the RMH, they sent us over to the Red Roof Inn nearby (but the Heartland mentioned is closer). The RRI has a shuttle to the hospital and they were great to us---let us check out late, etc. Most of the hotels have shuttles to the hospital, though. But, if the RMH refers you the room is much cheaper so I'd get in touch with them. You'll be glad you made the trip. Good luck! > > > Dear All, > > > > I am planning to visit Dr. Ponseti by next week for karen foot as her > > doctor is sure that she doesn't have atypical clubfoot however Dr. > > Ponseti is doubting that she might have it. Guest guest
Heidi, For airports, I would suggest either Cedar Rapids, IA (airport code CID) or Moline, IL (airport code MLI). Cedar Rapids is about a 30 minute drive from Iowa City and Moline is about a 1 hour drive from Iowa City. Chicago, on the other had, it roughly a 4 hour drive. To reserve a room at the Mc House, you can call and let them know when you will arrive. If they won't have rooms available, they will give you a voucher for a local hotel. I'm sorry I don't know which one(s) since I didn't have to use the Mc House. The closest hospital to the hospital is called Heartland Inn and their number is . I hope this info helps you out. rita221068 wrote: > Dear All, > > I am planning to visit Dr. Ponseti by next week for karen foot as her > doctor is sure that she doesn't have atypical clubfoot however Dr. > Ponseti is doubting that she might have it. Guest guest
, I know you are confused as i am. After Dr. C had made her the operation, i got her the M. sandals but her legs would not fit in properly. So i sent as a consultantation to Dr. Ponseti as well as informing by email Dr. C . Dr. Ponseti requested more pictures and then he informed me that she probably have Atypical clubfoot. I was shocked and then he asked me about the name of her doctor. I told him that he is Dr. C .I am not sure if he has consulted him or not. Meanwhile I sent to Dr. C telling him that i doubt that karen has atypical clubfoot he replied to me that he is sure she hasn't and asked me as Dr. ponseti did to make her angle to 50 degrees. which i did. But now the case is Dr. P is doubting she has clubfoot and Dr. Calburn is confirming she hasn't so i will give to Dr. Ponseti a visit to finalize this issue Heidi > Heidi- > > I'm confused. Guest guest
Heidi- You may have already gotten this info from someone else. We drove to Iowa from Ohio so we don't have any experience with any of the airports. We did stay at the RMH 5 out of the 6 times we have been there. The number for the RMH is . They can't guarantee a room but you will be put on the waiting list and if there is a room open its yours. It they don't have a room for you at the RMH, they will give you a voucher for one of the local motels. The voucher gets you a discounted rate. We stayed at the Red Roof Inn the one time we weren't able to stay at the RMH. Sometimes they have vouchers for the Holiday Inn and maybe one other area motel. There is a shuttle from the RMH to the clinic and I believe that there might be one from the Red Roof Inn as well. I'm not sure because we had our car and didn't need any transportation. We took our portable crib (Pack n Play) with us to use at the RMH. They have them available though if you need one. All the linens (towels, sheets, etc) are provided. We used their baby tub to set in to soften her casts before her appointments. Best of Luck with your appointment. It will at least give you some peace of mind to get Dr. Ponseti's opinion in person. Let me know if you have any more questions. Be sure to give us an update. What should i take with me in case i stayed at mcdonalds. I am so confused so could anyone give me enough information if he has gone this trip before.
