Guest guest
- Must vary in different states? perhaps? gosh - I am not sure on this- all I know is - I have been housebound for 2 yrs and trying since first hospitalization to get SSI- papers galore filled out many times and then a denial and more hospitalizations etc- and then a rehearing date attempt but never heard from them again so decided to get a lawyer - which due to custody etc battles - was definitely not something I wanted to do- I am a legal assistant by degree and hate the legal system lol- go figure.... Anyhow- I spoke with lawyer a few days ago on the telephone and they've sent some papers to me which I do have the aid of someone very sweet to me offering her help- yet I need to get my info to her so she can do that help------ ( ive been feeling so rotten lately- not just the EDS- kids are sharing their colds with me etc....... I so far have avoided the cold but have the beginnings of stomach flu- which in turn tears my colitis back up for a couple weeks ...... weeeeeeeeeeee-------- but it could be worse thats for sure. Back to the SSI garb lol- the lawyer stated the hearing is April- hmmmmmm - have the date here in these papers- and that I am definitely to be there. I've only been denied once and really had not heard from them in a year before I got the lawyer to find out why nothing was being done.... My doctor see's no reason for this delay- he rolls his eyes at their delay to tell you the truth lol- I will contact - I am having difficulty with aol e-mail addresses for some reason but- I can contact him on Aol instant messenger- I really just haven't turned the chat program on much lately- have been busy redoing sites when I feel well enough to tackle them..... I am also in his group- plus have his information on my ehlers page so see no problem with it, but- my son was never really doctor diagnosed to have EDS - but its pretty obvious to anyone now......... Some are still stating it has nothing to do with EDS - feels like you cant win for losing at times..... Hugssss Back to you ........ and if you see before I do - please send a wave to him from me and tell him sure but I have not passworded it yet so he may want to use the inside link instead so EDS users will not have to use a password..... I will check for him on Aol instant messenger sometime today and also tomorrow if I dont see him on today. Hope everyone is feeling as well as can be today- Love TJ TJ, on the third attempt you go before the judge, not the second. But I got an attorney anyway. I figured it would help. I don't know how much work they actually did. But at least their Letterhead was on top of everything and it let SSA know I meant business. Yes you do have to be there with your attorney before the judge, but mine didn't go that far. I f had been denied this time that would have been my next step too. But I still owe the lawyer 25% of my total reward, dated back to Sept.2002. Lots of luck and best wishes with it! Heim wants to know if he can put your son's website in his service guide for hidden disabilities and EDS. He told me to sat Hello to you! If it's OK his e-mail address is Daddio5600@... Lot's of Hugs for you, S. > > You won it on appeal after first denial without going to judge? I have enlisted aid of lawyer as well and the secretary said I must be there at the hearing.....> > > TJ > > Debbi, > No I did not have to go before the judge, I won it on my appeal after my > first denial, but I hired an attorney anyway.
