I'm so happy for you!

appt today w/ ponseti

I am back from my appt w/ Ponseti. He is such a gentle man. This

is the first casting appt that did not scream!

As a recap, had 5 casts, then AFO, then back in the cast. I

decided to switch from my chicago DR. to Dr.Ponseti.

is in a cast, and we will go back next monday. Dr. Ponseti

will decide at that point whether to do the tenotomy or put her in

the DBB at that time. He said her heel cord was tight, but that

this cast may stretch it enough w/out needing the tenetomy. He also

said her last cast was causing the bottom of her foot to be rocker

shaped (not flat or arched) and something about her toes that is

hard to describe, but I guess easily corrected.

I am extremely relieved that I went to see him. Ultimately, the

outcome may have been the same if I stayed w/ the Chicago Dr., but

it would take at least 8 more weeks w/ the chicago doc, instead of 1-

4 weeks with Dr. ponseti. Also, I would always be second guessing

what the Chicago doc was doing. Not having to worry about 's

treatment, and outcome, is worth the drive to Iowa.

By the way, the stay at the RMH was perfect. Thanks for the tip.

I will let you know how the next appt goes on monday.

Glad to hear 's appointment went well. Dr. Ponseti is such a wonderful man!

It is well worth the 6000 miles we have driven for 's treatment. The

staff at the RMH is always so welcoming. Glad to hear you had a good experience

as well. Keep us updated.

Mollie, I agree, just for peace of mind, the trip is definitely worth

it! How is doing? Is she tolerating the cast okay? Keep us

posted.
