Hi ,

Well if it is any comfort to you, I have heard that BHR's are being done on

a regular basis in many parts of NSW........... When I was in NSW in Jan my

brotherinlaw came home from his work - he is an anaesthestist up the coast -

and said he had taken part in 2 that day........ He hadn't seen it before I

had mine in Aug 02.......... so it has quickly gained popularity.........

especially if a patient is younger and has some good bone

stock left...........

I can well imagine your joy with getting out of a situation such as you

described. Sounds pretty painful to me and as you say it doesn't make much

sense to continue damaging the rest of your body........... That is the bit

I dearly wish I could have avoided and is no fun trying to get sort out now

I do have a hip again. And, like you, in the weigh up between the side

effects of a life on Vioxx etc and the side effects of metal I put my vote

on metal any day.............smile. Just plan to take to a pool and you

will have the atrophy sorted out in due course and back doing all sorts of

things...... i.e. the first time post op that I visited Dr. Len's office a

guy was sitting there waiting for his 6 week post op appointment - he was

very happy to tell me about his first golf outing that previous weekend.
