Guest guest
Hi Betsy, Stress eating, idle eating, or boredom eating. All the same. We need to find a way to handle it other than with food, OR with the right foods. Not as easy done as it is said, I know... While waiting for you surgery, if eating is the biggest problem for you while stressing about it, you NEED to eat foods that are practical and low points. Run for the veggies, berries, melons. Keep busy, maybe there are lots of things you want to get done in the home before you go, like digging out closets, cleaning etc. A great stress reliever, and a good feeling knowing you got it done.. I know I get a great satisfaction out of clearing junk from the house, stuff I thought I just couldn't throw out. Straightening out closets, just re-organizing things.. I find that closets alone take time. And what about all those dresser drawers stuffed with stuff. Hours can pass before you even realize you are a little hungry.. It would be nice to have lots of things prepared ahead for when you are at home and recovering. Having them portioned out, so that if someone else is getting them for you , is a real plus. I have a sister-in-law who done just that. She was going in for two operations that required her to practically stay off her feet for quite awhile. She made sure she had all the things she knew she really loved, from soups, rice dishes, veggie and chicken dishes, muffins etc. She measured and weighed and put them in baggies and throw away tupperware dishes. She even marked the points on each one. She is still in the healing stage, since she just had her operation and all she has to do is keep track of points. She is able to stay on program, eat healthy and feels good about that part... If you knit or crochet, try a new pattern, see how far you get on it before your surgery. Maybe try a little walking program when you feel overwhelmed. It does not have to be a long one, just get out of the house... Sometimes just a nice hot cup of coffee with a little sweetener does the trick for me.. No tea when in this mood, because tea always makes me want to eat. You will know what works.. all the best to you....Kallie ------------------------------------------------------------------ In Serious-Weight-Watchers , " Betsy " topgamma48@c...> wrote: Clear DayI have been on weight watchers since Feb. and have lost 25 pounds so far. I had been losing consistantly up until the last couple of weeks. I have to have a hysterectomy on the 21st of this month and it must be the stress that is making me want to eat. How can I stop stressing and what can I do to get back on track. Any ideas would be helpful. I have my weigh in tomorrow night and this is the first time I really dread going because I am afraid I will have a gain. In His Grip!
