I tend to do some activities alone (short runs) because I like to be able to " think " and sort stuff out while I run. But, I love taking classes and running in groups for long runs. So, I guess I'm a solid BOTH! Right now, I'm training for a marathon, so I'm running four times a week, adding mileage each week. I take a pilates class twice a week. I also try to throw at least two days of cross training in the mix, usually elliptical trainer, weights (usually just upper body, my legs get really fatigued from lifting if I'm in training for a race), biking outside, or an exercise video (like TaeBo). Guest guest
I know this is going to sound like a cop out but I like it all. Yesterday I led some folks I work with in a Jane Fonda tape (one lady who has arthritis just did the arms with me). But I can enjoy a great bike ride alone or even the Healthrider while watching some mindless TV or listening to a book. It's all good. Sue (who exercised 2.5 hours yesterday) Question of the day 7/22 > How do you prefer to exercise? (In a group, alone, with a cyber-buddy)? Guest guest
Exercise alone, first thing in the morning, with either my Palm Tungsten T2 listening to audio books or listening to yesterday's " All Things Considered " (a news program), or if I'm desperate, CNN. I prefer my recumbent stationary bike for cardio (in winter time), my Bow Flex for circuit Training, and my swimming pool for fun. Of course the swimming pool isn't first thing in the morning, instead its usually about an hour after lunch. Question of the day 7/22 How do you prefer to exercise? Guest guest
I prefer going to the gym by myself. It's definetly my ME time. I love taking classes my favorites are kickboxing, cardio bootcamp and any total body conditioning or weight training class. I also like to use the free weights and other equiptment. But my favorite is running on the treadmill. I just found some interval traning tips so I've been trying to do that. It's definetly a harder work out but in the end you have more energy and have burned more calories. Jeannine
Guest guest
I prefer exercising alone. I use it as ME time. My favourites are the elleptical machine and running. I can't wait to get back into running and getting that runner's high where you feel like you could go on forever....... aaahhhh! Bel
