Guest guest
>So that's where we're at now. I'm to get the blood draw on the 29th, Monday, because I have to stop eating all predatory fish for several days before the blood draw cuz one of the tests is for mercury toxicity which is in fish. ----------------------- Caroline, Mercury toxicity does NOT show up in blood tests. But it is the typical doctors' line and course of action. It will do NOTHING for you as mercury hides out in organs and the nervous system and brain...messes up your mineral transport and endocrine system along with everything else it does. Doing a blood for mercury toxicity is right up there (if not above) using TSH tests for determing dosages as we have been discusing at this site. (I am NOT attacking you Caroline, rather the ignorance of the medical community) Any mercury which you have been exposed to will be out of your blood stream and partially excreted and the other part stored up in your brain and other organs. Mercury from fillngs methylates straight up to the brain. Never even goes into the blood stream, I don't think. You think doctors think ARMOUR is a nasty word? Try telling them you have mercury toxicity, LOL! All they understand and know is how to test for is acute poisoning, and unless you recently swallowed a thermometer, you will not be showing much if anything in your blood. You need to get a hair analysis. (Doctor's Data Lab) I think Moriam's site has some intstructions on how to get a test done if you can not get your doctor to cooperate. A blood test will tell you nothing, zero, zilch, zip about whether you are suffering from chronic mercury toxicity. Moriam explains much of this in better detail than I at: http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/HOW_TO_hair_test.html#get_hair_test Whine and moan to your doctor for the hair analysis, and demand a copy. There are instructions on how to post all the information once you get it and have soembody who understand it help understand and interpret it. Caroline, after reading the link above, if you are interested, I can scan some pages out of my mercury book (the same one that is available online) to further help you figure this out. Yes, you are hypothyroid and getting that in line is paramount, but there is likely more to it than that, and if you are mercury toxic, then all the best efforts simply will not get you well until you start getting the mercury out. Addressing thyroid issues should help the detox pathways a lot as well. Heavy metals are wreaking havoc in more people than one can imagine. Messing up thyroid glands is just one of the wonderful things that mercury does for us. I am not suggesting that everybody here at this site has mercury toxicity just because their thyroid is messed up, but mercury has such a high affinity for messing up the thyroid gland, that I believe it behooves anybody who is not feeling great after awhile on the ARMOUR to consider looking for the root of the problem in heavy metal toxicity ~Inga
