,

I have met Dr.'s Lehman, Scher and Feldman a number of times. They

have been using the Ponseti method since late 1999 and have been

major advocates of the Ponseti method.

In 2001, Dr. Ponseti visited NYU where they named their Clubfoot

treatment center after Dr. Ponseti. There are a number of parents on

the internet who have gone to NYU.

The Cotton Family put up an excellent web site showing their child

being treated by Dr. Feldman at http://hometown.aol.com/vc11/

They have done a number of studies on their use of the Ponseti method

including an Abstract of an article by Lehman WB et al, titled, " A

method for the early evaluation of the Ponseti (Iowa) technique for

the treatment of idiopathic clubfoot, " published in the Journal of

Pediatric Orthopedics, March 2003.

My son is currently being treated by Dr. Lehman at NYU. He is 9 months old

and wearing the DDB only at bedtime. I am very happy with doctors there and he

is progressing remarkably. He was born with severe BCF. Please feel free to

email me privately (joannertle@...) if you have any specific questions.

I haven't heard of those doctors. I live in North Jersey and Manhattan is

about ten minutes from my house but Dr. Ponseti referred my son to see Dr.

Herzenberg in land. I would also like to find out some info on them.

We live in NYC and are going to see Dr. Lehman and/or Dr. Scher the

week our son is born. They are head/co-head of the Clubfoot Center at

the Center for Children, Hospital for Joint Diseases in Manhattan.

Anybody had any experience with them? They are listed on the Dr.

Ponseti's website. We went to meet them and liked them a lot. They

spent a lot of time with us, explained everything, introduced us to

some of the patients, allowed us to see the cast application and bar

tuning. I searched the board and haven't found any reference of them.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thank you,

hi...

we live in new york city too and have been seeing dr. scher since the day our

son sam was

born in may of 2003. i have nothing but excellent things to say about dr. scher

as well as

the entire center for children staff (well, all but one of them, but thats

another story!).

before sam was born, i emailed ponseti himself and asked him which doctors he

thought

were best in the nyc area and he listed them in order for me: scher and then

lehman/

feldman.

if you have any other questions, or would like to discuss further, or even meet

up for a cup

of coffee or whatever, feel free to email me.

good luck,

bill

Hello,

Our daughter a is now 3 and a half months old and has been treated by Dr.

Scher since she was just six days old. I too have nothing but compliments for

Dr. Scher and staff. I would recommend him highly. a is now wearing her

dbb full time and is doing wonderfully so far.

Good luck - maybe we will meet up in the waiting area one day (That is my one

complaint - it always seems to be a bit crazy in the waiting area).

Take care,

Lori
