Guest guest
Thank you for the support, wisdom, and advise I receive from this group. It really is an inter-enhancement society and a great resource. Happily... I'm off to Belgium in days for my unilateral resurfacing (fingers crossed) with Dr. De Smet on Feb 3rd 2004. Will be doing a solo! (Yikes) (Thanks Dr Ed from El Paso for your tips.) My hip kit is being overnighted. Reports coming out of Belgium are very impressive and I look forward to the whole surreal experience. With whom will I have the pleasure of sharing chocolate and beer with early February? Many moons ago posted " Less Than Ideal Hip Resurfacing Candidates " (#21239) ...mentioned then, I have advanced avascular necrosis and cysts in right hip ..a former NYC marathon runner / skydiver now use elbow crutches to get around my apartment... Sometimes don't leave my place for days because of harrowing pain and the five flights of stairs. Last night two close friends took me to a " farewell dinner " now one week before my departure to Belgium. Joked with them " it gave me a reason to shower. " The simplest of things require more effort than ever before. Hoping too that I can write some time later (as other surfacehippies have) that " I don't even think about my hip anymore. " (which one was it? ...smile) Best of Luck To All! in NYC (46yrs) (Hoping miracles can be repeated)
