Guest guest
What is a good anti-oxident out there that doesn't taste bad? Our son's behavior is wonderful when he is on them, but all the ones we try taste so bad. We have to crush tabs or empty capsules into liguids. Thank you in advance!!! Guest guest
I guess the obvious one would be vitamin C. We give our son a citrus flavored 1000mg large tablet, broken into 8 pieces and spread out during the day, in addition to the C he gets in his multi. Vitamin E doesn't taste like much -- you could break open the gelcap and mix it into something. > What is a good anti-oxident out there that doesn't taste bad? You can order it from their website - it's sweet like honey. Your son might eat it right off the spoon, although it would be best to eat something fatty or fibrous along with it, as with all sweets, so it doesn't cause a blood sugar surge. Berry Young Juice (featuring the wolfberry) also tested as one of the highest ORAC values. But it's ridiculously expensive, IMO. Blueberries are a great source of antioxidants, too. I take an antioxidant enzyme product that I think is great. It's called AOX/PLX (gluten-free wheat *sprout* complex) that comes in tablets. I have no idea how it tastes because I swallow the tablets :- ) Grape seed extract and pine bark extract are also good. So many choices... Guest guest
Just went to a conference and Woody McGinniss presented on antioxidants. He said real vanilla is a good antioxidant. Shake maybe? Mixed into hot cereal? Just a thought..Kim > > What is a good anti-oxident out there that doesn't taste bad? Guest guest
My favorite is cranberry cocktail. Anything with berries (dark color = antixidants), and strangely enough, chocolate. Chocolate is loaded with antioxidants, so if he gets treats, make it chocolate! Can't remember the company but someone is making an " SOD " product that is chewable and grape flavored, yummy stuff. If you're shooting for yeast-free/sugar-free, that's another matter. Jen > What is a good anti-oxident out there that doesn't taste bad?
