Guest guest
I'm not sure but I would guess that if the forefoot is corrected, there would be no reason to have the reverse last shoes. I would think that the reverse last shoes would put unnecessary pressure on the inside of the forefoot causing it to turn out in relation to the rest of the foot. Also, keep in the mind that if the reverse last shoes are used, the 70 degree outward rotation needs to be adjusted. Guest guest
We have reverse last shoes too and I asked this question back in May or June. Jay Markell replied that Dr. Ponseti used to use them back when the bar they had developed could not give the 70 degree outward rotation. The reverse last shoes give an extra 8 degrees of rotation to the foot. They are not a bad thing at all, just not really needed anymore because the bar they have now can give the 70 degrees rotation. Our shoes are set at 60 degrees and the reverse last gives another 8 degrees, so we have gotten to nearly 70 degrees, just in a roundabout manner. Hope this helps.
