Guest guest
Well, actually, I'm not hearing them right NOW... but I will be in about a year! On Saturday night, asked me to marry him!! We bought the rings on Sunday. BUT... I can't wear my engagement ring until we tell our parents -- which won't be until Saturday, Sept. 4. Arrrgh! LOL His parents are coming up over Labor Day weekend to visit , meet my parents and my schnauzer Dexter. (And the cats.) SO.. we've decided to wait to tell our close friends, etc., until after we've told our parents. Now, this is not to imply that you guys aren't FRIENDS.. but hopefully word won't leak back to my parents on this. LOL Oh man, it finally hit me this morning and I thought I was going to throw up! (In a good way, I think. Although how could throwing up be good?) My mind just started racing. I need to find a good book on planning weddings. I DO know that we are going to keep it simple. In fact, we both liked how after his parents' wedding, they just served cake at the reception. So far, that's we are planning on. A friend of mine had a very small wedding (just family and me and another friend) and then a bigger reception. We talked about that, but then when we decided on just cake at the reception, well... then I don't care HOW many people are at the wedding. LOL Since we are both older and financially independent, we're footing the bill. (Although I suppose if the parents insist on helping out, we probably won't refuse. Like if one set wants to pay for the photographer and the other wants to pay for the cake?) My cousin and his wife's wedding was very nice... their colors were denim and khaki. The bridesmaids wore denim dresses and the groomsmen wore khaki pants and denim shirts (and ties). Anyhow........... that's the scoop here! Oh, Saturday was also 's 36th birthday. He kept telling me all day, " Oh I hope my birthday wish comes true! " I was about ready to beat it out of him about what he wished for. LOL While we were waiting for my ring to be " built " yesterday (we picked the loose diamond and the setting), we went to a Chinese restaurant. 's fortune read " Your luck has been completely changed today. " and mine read " Your destiny lies before you, choose wisely. " Talk about appropriate fortunes!! Anyhow, if anyone has any good book opinions on planning weddings, please email me (privately) at ksandberg@..., kimberly@... or kimberly_sandberg@.... We stopped at one of the bookstores and they did have a few books, but I wasn't sure which would be a good one to get. A binder type that keeps all of the information together?? That seems like a good idea... but...??? Woo-hoo!! Thank you Match.com. PS. I'm sorry for sending an off-topic email.. but I just thought I'd share my good news!!
