Guest guest
Donna: My leader told me that she has never seen anyone loose weight consistently. If you look at a graph of weight loss for most people, it is up and down. " Take heart, its part of the process " she said. With that in mind, you might consider looking at your water intake, and your exercise routine. Both can have an effect on weight loss. Make sure you are getting at least 8 glasses of water a day. If you are only doing aerobics, consider starting to build muscle using weight resistance. The first week or so of adding weight resistance may cause the scale to go up a pound, or stay the same. But don't worry, this is how you kick your system into HIGH gear. And the lean muscle mass is what makes it 'easier' for men to loose weight. Also, look at the free foods you eat. Limit those to 5 a day. You should be really proud of your weight loss. You are doing terrific and well on your way to your goal. Congratulations on your 2.4 loss this week. Another thought is to take measurements. Are you using the scale as your only measure of success? Perhaps you could start using a measuring tape for a second opinion. That way if you don't have a good week on the scale, the measuring tape usually comes to the rescue. Then start looking at those NSV (non scale victories) and write them down in a diary, so when you have a bad week you can remind yourself that you are happy in your journey, and that overall it is a good experience. One that you intend to keep going forward with. Hope this helps. It doesn't look like you really need any, you are doing great! 199/175/145 Donna's Weigh In I am so psyched. I lost 2.4 lbs this week and I am really happy with that. I got down to my first 10% (which also happened to be the 25 lb mark) 3 weeks ago and then gained 2.4 lbs the following week. The week after, I lost 1.8 lbs and really expected it to be more so I was a little disappointed. This week I lost the 2.4 lbs and now I feel like I am back. I am now 1.8 under my 10% and the 25lb mark. I am having a dilemma and was wondering if you have any suggestions. I seem to reach a goal and then I gain again. This happened when I reached my first 10 lbs as well as when I reached 25 lbs. I get there then I have a gain. I am staying on program and exercising the same and the weight seems to come off pretty evenly otherwise, but I don't know why this is happening. It doesn't have anything to do with TOM, I have already thought of that and looked into it. Any suggestions? Guest guest
Great, sound advice, ! I do alot of the things you suggested because I know that I am easily discouraged. I have a journal where I record great willpower moments, motivational stuff & I even have a section called " Collecting Compliments " where I write down anything positive said to me about my weight loss. I revisit it when I'm feeling unmotivated. I also take my measurements about once a month. I'm amazed at how quickly the inches come off! My scale also has a " Body Fat analysis " setting. It's nice to see the number move down, although it was pretty shocking the first time I saw the percentage of fat in my body! > Donna: > My leader told me that she has never seen anyone loose weight consistently. > If you look at a graph of weight loss for most people, it is up and down.
