Guest guest
My understanding about activity points is they are added for extra activity you do during the day, not your regular day to day activity? Like I don't count walking my dogs the first time because I always walked them once a day. But if I walk them twice, I count the second walk because that is extra and I feel like I need to do something extra to earn extra points... Does anyone have any thoughts on what they count and don't count for activity points? in Ohio wrote: I am in that boat with you ! I haven't figured out what it would take to earn 4 points a day for my weight (204), but I bet it's more time than I have. I have 5 kids, homeschool all 5 full time, co-operate a home business with my hubby, and work part time outside the home. An hour a day to exercise? Maybe if I get up at 4 am (instead of 5:00 am like I do now) But then again, I'm not fully functional until at least 6 am...so exercising earlier than 6 might be hazardous to my health instead of helpful!! I'm not sure what to do to get 4 points a day in activity. I'm going from ZERO points a day (at least that's zero points of " intentional " activity) so to jump to FOUR points a day might be a stretch...maybe it is better to consistently work toward getting 2...then build up to 3...then to 4. Surely my day to day activity should count for 1 or 2 points? I've used a pedometer to track my steps during a " normal " day and I average 5,000 steps without any intentional exercise. I wonder if that counts for anything. I've spent hours in the gym before and it doesn't fit my lifestyle...it's not something I can sustain over the long run...I think it is really important to find something you can do as part of your life...Not to knock anyone who spends 2 hours a day in the gym. That's great...but not realistic for me. Glad to see I'm not the only one ! So what do you think you're going to do? in CO 4 APs: how hard IS it? Just wanted to comment, because I find it VERY hard to get 4 APs a day, without spending a lot of time exercising....I'm looking at my Points Booster slide rule, and for my weight, I'd have to do 116 minutes at light 83 minutes at moderate Or 33 minutes at high Personally, I can't last very long at a high intensity, and don't prefer doing high intensity.I prefer moderate...but 83 minutes? Sheesh.... Anybody else having this dilemma? ~~

Anything you were already doing (such as working a job where you walk a lot or do manual labor) does not count toward APs. I could think of some extreme examples where that wouldn't work, but I think for most of us, we are supposed to count the " extra " exercise that we get each day that isn't part of the norm. april

Guest guest
It would seem to me that if your normal daily routine includes activities that would be AP'S before you started on WW, then they would still be AP'S after you joined. Guest guest
in Ohio, you mentioned doing 15 minutes at high and working my way to longer. I actually had been doing this, but started having heart palpitations. So I backed waaaay off. I don't have insurance, and don't start working for another few weeks. So I've been in a holding pattern until I can see a doctor. I think it's mostly been stress, but it could be my thyroid medication needing adjusting....But anyway...that progression did work for me. I was able to get more APs in each day, and I didn't feel like I was going to die (well, until the heart palpitations! LOL) ~~
