Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, No ! you `SILLY GOOSE'......they don't do this surgery to make you loose weight...You are thinking of Weight Reduction Surgery, where they make your stomach smaller, so that you can't eat as much as you normally would. The colon is your lower intestine....that carries the waste to your rectum. It is past your stomach....I had the surgery in 1995......I was always skinny...my normal weight was about 90 to 95 lb.......I was diagnosed with Lupus in 1997.....and now with taking Prednisone.....(My maintenance dose is 10 mg. a day) My average weight is about 123 lbs. I now have the` Chipmonk cheeks' and ` Preggers' Belly!' And Actually have BOOBS ! now....... and I wonder,"Where were these `humungus knockers '30 years ago??" C. Has it helped to keep your weight down? That is what they used to do to make people loose weight. ---Hi Tricia, You asked for input from people with stomach problems. I had suffered with Diverticulitis for many years before I finally went for a colonoscopy.....primarily because I was As soon as I was approved....My daughter took me for a colonoscopy......and was rushed immediatly to the hospital for emergency surgery.......I had a kink in my colon, with a huge pocket of infection just behind it ready to rupture. They were able to do a colon ressection......removing about 12 inches of my colon, and then reattaching the two ends of my colon.
